Sally's Homemade Granola

Makes 6 Servings

3 Cups of rolled oats

1 cup of slivered almonds

1 cup of cashews

3/4 cup shredded coconut

1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. dark brown sugar

1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp.maple syrup

1/4 cup oil (I use coconut oil)

3/4 tsp. salt

1-3 tbsp. of chia seeds (optional)

*Add-ins: You can add raisins, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, figs and other dried fruit to you granola after it has been baked.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250.
  2. In a large bowl combine oats, nuts, coconut and brown sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl combine syrup, oil, and salt. Combine both mixtures and then pour into 2 sheet pans.
  4. Bake for one hour and 15 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes to achieve even browning.
  5. Transfer to a large bowl and let cool. Add your add-ins to your heart's desire.
